What’s Up Wednesday – July

Heeellllooooo! It has been a hot minute since I’ve posted over here. I’m trying to take advantage of my summer and get all the things done and it has resulted in giant overwhelm!!

So I am taking a break from the overwhelm and linking up with Sheaffer and Shay to share what’s been up lately!

WHAT WE’RE EATING THIS WEEK:

  1. Zucchini lasagna with salad and garlic bread knots
  2. Tacos
  3. Chicken Cordon Bleu with roasted broccoli
  4. Surf and Turf with salad
  5. Pesto chicken with veggies
  6. Breakfast for Dinner

WHAT I’M REMINISCING ABOUT

One of my goals for the month of July (and I’ll continue in August) is to go through the pictures on my phone. I take A LOT of pictures (and when Rylie steals my phone, she likes to make videos) so there is a ton to go through! I came across the pictures of when we went to Texas for Christmas. There are a lot of deer where my dad lives and they like it when the girls go out to feed them! It’s neat to have these animals so close. They will eat the corn right out of our hands!

WHAT I’M LOVING:

Well, it’s still summer so I’m still enjoying sleeping in and enjoying slow mornings. I love getting to drink coffee while it’s hot!!

Hot coffee, puppies and a heated blanket

WHAT WE’VE BEEN UP TO:

We took a last minute trip to Frankenmuth, Michigan. We grabbed day passes to Splash Village, the water park at Zehnders Hotel and had lots of fun!

WHAT I’M DREADING:

The end of summer! I only have three weeks left 🙁

In all honesty, I AM. NOT. READY.  I survived a tough year and I’m enjoying my time off. While there WERE some positives of 100% remote teaching (like, my quick and easy commute to my basement, getting to sleep in a little longer and my super comfy pajamas-on-the-bottom wardrobe), it was hard! My brain is just not ready yet!

WHAT I’M WORKING ON:

Cricut Explore Air 2

I’m way behind the times, but I finally broke down and bought a Cricut Explore Air 2 and I’m learning how to use that! I plan on making labels for my classroom and eventually branching out to create stickers.

Also, Shelby has decided to try out for the Middle School Volleyball team and I am putting together a vision board with inspirational quotes to help boost her confidence.

WHAT I’M EXCITED ABOUT:

It only took 3 weeks to get it done, but we had our driveway redone.  It was in horrible shape but now it looks amazing!  Hubby wanted to extend it over on the side so he could have an extra space for his car trailer. Definitely excited to have it done!

Rainy days and driveway floods
It rained several days and pushed back the finishing of the driveway.

WHAT I’M WATCHING/READING:

The Weekenders book by Mary Kay Andrews

I enjoyed this one! I checked out a few more books but never did get around to reading them. I made a HUGE to do list of things I wanted to get done during my summer off and I’ve been focusing on those things and let reading take a backseat.  I’ve already put in another list on the library website and added reading to my habit tracker for August.

WHAT I’M LISTENING TO:

Losing 100 pounds with Corinne podcast

Since trying to go back to a healthier lifestyle is a goal I am working on, I have started listening to Losing 100 Pounds podcasts by Corinne Crabtree.  I will warn you, don’t listen with kids around – she cusses. A Lot! She is blunt and tells it like it is, and I’m all for it! Give me a much needed swift kick in the backside, Corinne!!

WHAT I’M WEARING:

Nothing exciting! If it isn’t pajamas, it’s shorts and t-shirts.

WHAT I’M DOING THIS WEEKEND:

This weekend I am headed back down into the basement! No, I haven’t finished getting it organized yet! This weekend I will start getting together all the things I can (finally) take back to school. That will be a HUGE help in getting the office/crafting area finished. I still need to go through all the girls’ toys and decide what we want to do with them. Our donation places weren’t taking donations the last time we tried so I gave up. I’m going to try Facebook Marketplace also. I’m so close to having it done and I can’t wait to be finished!

WHAT I’M LOOKING FORWARD TO NEXT MONTH:

I’m looking forward to soaking up all the summer vibes! I still want to hit up some more beaches and maybe another water park! We didn’t get to do as much as we wanted in July because of all the rainy days and how long it took to get the driveway done! Bring on the sun and waves!!

WHAT ELSE IS NEW:

Not much else is going on with us. What’s up with you?
