Hi there!
My name is Krysti! Welcome to my little corner of the blogosphere!
I am a soon-to-be 50 year old Texan, born and raised, now living in Michigan with my husband and two daughters.
I am currently in my 25th year of teaching! I started teaching in 4th grade (2 years), and then have spent the remainder of my career jumping back and forth between kindergarten and first grade! This year, I am back in first grade after the last 9 years in kindergarten! I love teaching kids to read and I received my Master’s Degree in Reading back in 2001.
Here are a few random things to help you get to know me a little better:
- I actually have my Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology – not education.
- I love trying new recipes and, thankfully, my family pretty much eats whatever I make.
- I love living in a place where there are actually 4 seasons throughout the year. Summer and Fall are my favorites!
- I love to travel and enjoy planning our vacations! My favorite trip was a cruise to Alaska!
- We have two dogs and a cat!
- I love to read and once dreamed of becoming a writer of Regency Romance novels (think “Bridgerton”)!
- I didn’t have my first baby until I was 36!
- My biggest goal in 2021 is to become debt free! (I will share that journey with you!)
- When we retire, I want to get an RV and travel around the country!
- I have enjoyed teaching from home during the pandemic and would consider doing it some more!
