It’s the last week in June, and, even though I am only two weeks into my summer vacation, it feels like it’s flying! I’m not ready for summer to be over yet!! #slowdownsummer

What I’m Reminiscing About…
Our trip to Florida. We had so much fun! I never thought I would enjoy Florida without going to Disney, but I did! We spent one day at the Clearwater Aquarium, watched the sun set over Sunset Beach, and, honestly, melted a little in the Florida heat!!
What I’m Loving…
I am loving not having to wake up to an alarm! I am loving the fact that I have no idea what day it is most days! I am loving that I can use the bathroom or get a drink or snack whenever I want! I am loving summer! #teacherlife
What We’ve Been Up To…
We are currently working through our summer bucket list. It’s been raining a lot here so there hasn’t been much pool or beach time yet, but we will definitely get to it soon!
What I’m Dreading…
Time to get a little heavy, friends. I have a love/hate relationship with the 4th of July. I love the festivities and fireworks, but it is also the day that I lost my mom. This year will be two years without her and it hasn’t gotten any easier. I try to keep it upbeat for the girls, but I dread the heaviness this day brings.
What I’m Working On…
The dang basement! After living in this house for 14 years, that basement has never really been “finished”. I get close to getting it clean and organized so I stop and then it just gets back to crazy! I’m determined this will be the summer it’s completely finished!! I will keep you posted….
What I’m Excited About…
All things summer! My summer just started and I’m ready for all our fun adventures! I’m going to try not to think of anything school related until at least the middle of August!
What I’m Watching/Reading…
Finally ordered and picked up some books from the library for some summer reading. I have not read these authors before but even the librarian was telling me how good they were when I picked them up! I foresee several days in my future where I do nothing but read all day and I’m here for it!
What I’m Listening To…
The silence!! No one is home right now and I’m going to enjoy it while I can. It isn’t very often that I get silence!
What I’m Wearing…
Would you think less of me if I admitted some days I stay in pajamas all day? It may have happened a time or two. Or three. My usual summer wardrobe is t shirts and shorts. I’m currently waiting on these shorts from Amazon. They look comfortable and that’s what I’m all about this summer!
What I’m Doing This Weekend…
We don’t have any big plans for the 4th. Most summers we head home to Texas but hubby won’t be off until later in the month. If I’m lucky, he will grill hamburgers and hotdogs and maybe some chicken so I’ll have some for salads.
What I’m Looking Forward to Next Month…
In July we will keep working our way through our Bucket List, relaxing and, hopefully, heading to Texas.
