Dr. Sandler has been practicing surgery in our community for almost 30 years. He has a strong interest in hernia repairs as well as laparoscopic surgery including laparoscopic gallbladder and laparoscopic hernia surgery. He has taught courses in laparoscopic gallbladder and open/laparoscopic hernia surgery and has served as faculty at surgical conferences across the country.
Dr. Sandler is currently the Medical Director of the Montgomery Surgery Center in Rockville and is a member of the Medical Executive Committee at Shady Grove Hospital. He has also previously served as Chief of Surgery at Shady Grove Hospital and as President of the Surgery Center of Rockville.
Starting in 2006, Dr. Sandler participated in surgical missions to San Pedro Sula and Comayagua, Honduras providing surgical care to the indigent communities of Central America. He has been consistently named as one of the area’s Outstanding General Surgeons by the Washingtonian Magazine as well as by the Consumer Checkbook. When he is not seeing patients, Dr. Sandler spends time with his wife and daughter.
