Closed Red Line stations to reopen Sunday

Four Montgomery County-based Metro Red Line stations that were closed for the summer for Purple Line construction will reopen Sunday. The Glenmont, Wheaton, Forest Glen and Silver Spring stations have been closed since June 1. While it is reopening, Silver Spring station travelers can expect construction to continue through 2027. Five county organizations receive Purple Line grants

Five Montgomery County nonprofits have received community grants from Purple Line Transit Partners, which are geared toward neighborhoods where Purple Line light-rail stations are located.
